The Vienna Center for Disarmament and Non-Proliferation (VCDNP), the Maureen and Mike Mansfield Foundation, the Federation of American Scientists and the Sasakawa Peace Foundation cordially invite you to attend the panel discussion titled "Global Security, Safety, and Nuclear Governance After Fukushima: A Discussion with the US-Japan Nuclear Working Group."
The event will be held in the conference room of the VCDNP (Andromeda Tower, Floor 13, Donau-City-Strasse 6, 1220 Vienna) on Monday, 18 February 2013, from 16:30 to 18:30. Refreshments will be served at 16:00.
In the aftermath of the tragic accident at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, popular and political attention has focused on domestic concerns voiced within a vigorous and ideologically charged Japanese energy policy debate. The US-Japan Nuclear Working Group panel will discuss the impact of the Fukushima disaster on global nuclear governance and the resulting changes to Japan's nuclear energy activities, as well as on Japan-US nuclear collaboration.
