On 24 January 2018, VCDNP Senior Research Associate Ulrich Kühn gave a talk to the Robert Bosch Academy's Fellowship program in Berlin on a panel about disruptive technologies. In his remarks, Kühn focused on the risks and chances involved in additive manufacturing (AM), and international responses to proliferation risks stemming from AM.

With regards to Germany's role as one of the worlds leaders in AM technology, Kühn suggested that Germany "start protecting its indigenous AM marketplaces and treat them as strategic assets."
