
Jonathan Vince joined the VCDNP as a Research Intern in October 2026. Alongside his position at the VCDNP, Mr. Vince is a member of the inaugural Space Security Research Fellowship of the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR). At UNIDIR, he supports UN policy and space industry standards by authoring comprehensive analyses of national space policies and through contributions to the Space Security Lexicon.
Mr. Vince has previously worked as a Research Assistant at Utrecht University’s Orbital Politics consortium, where he helped establish a multi-year research project dedicated to analysing the impact of the modern space industry on contemporary armed conflict and politics.
Mr. Vince’s research interests include improving cross-sector collaboration in the space sector, the inseparability of space security and nuclear arms control, as well as the security risks, policy implications and societal benefits arising from the rapid growth of Earth observation capabilities.
Mr. Vince holds a Master’s degree in Conflict Studies & Human Rights and a Bachelor’s degree in History & International Relations, both awarded with cum laude distinction from Utrecht University. He is a native English speaker, fluent in Dutch, and has basic knowledge of Spanish.
