The Vienna Center for Disarmament and Non-Proliferation (VCDNP) and the Oppenheimer Project cordially invite you to attend an in-person event entitled “Powering Hope: A Conversation with Rafael Grossi and Charles Oppenheimer,” which will be held on Monday, 2 December 2024, from 15:00 – 16:30 Central European Time (CET) in the TechGate Auditorium.
Eight decades since the Manhattan Project, nuclear weapons continue to pose grave risks to humanity with no clear solutions in sight. Meanwhile, the climate crisis threatens to spin out of control. In the midst of these daunting global challenges, nuclear energy has re-emerged as a promising path forward, though possible implications for global security associated with it cannot be ignored.
The past, present, and future of nuclear energy and technology, with its perils and promise, will be the center of this conversation.
