VCDNP Senior Fellow Angela Kane, also Vice President of the International Institute for Peace (IPP) in Vienna, recently contributed to Debating Security Plus' (DS+) series of video interviews on the pressing global security challenges.
During her interview, Ms. Kane discussed the issues surround the possibility of non-state actors obtaining nuclear material for use in nuclear explosive devices. She addressed these issues in a historical context, bringing attention to the ways in which nuclear security culture has changed since the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, UN Security Council Resolution 1540, the Nuclear Security Summits and the possible role of new technologies as weapons of terror by non-state actors.
