Background

Noah Mayhew is a Senior Research Associate and the VCDNP’s Programmes and Outreach Manager.

His research agenda is focused on international nuclear policy negotiations, nuclear safeguards and broader issues of nuclear verification, the non-proliferation implications of advanced civil nuclear technologies, nuclear arms control, and US-Russian relations. His publication record includes a number of analytical studies on non-proliferation and safeguards, nuclear verification and disarmament, as well as briefs under the VCDNP’s Governing the Atom brief series. As Programmes and Outreach Manager, he assists with strategic planning and implementation of the Center’s research, dialogue and capacity-building agenda as well as engagement with international partners.

Mr. Mayhew also leads the VCDNP’s capacity-building activities, including the Center’s biannual short courses on nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament as well as ad hoc courses and programmes.

Education

Mr. Mayhew holds a dual Master’s Degree in in Non-Proliferation Studies from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey and the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (2018) and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Relations from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville (2014). He is fluent in Russian and conversational in German.
