On 10 October 2022, the Vienna Center for Disarmament and Non-Proliferation (VCDNP) and the International Affairs Institute (IAI) organized a joint event at the University of Roma Tre titled: International Security, Nuclear Weapons and the War in Ukraine. The event is part of the Young Women and Next Generation Initiative (YWNGI), an effort of the EU Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Consortium (EUNPDC) to engage the next generation in non-proliferation, disarmament and arms control.
The first panel of the event was dedicated to the current geopolitical situation in Europe, where experts analyzed the impact of the war in Ukraine on the non-proliferation and disarmament regime, assessed the threat and scenarios of potential use of nuclear and chemical weapons.
