In an interview with Austrian broadcaster Ö1 Mittagsjournal on 8 May 2018, VCDNP's Ulrich Kühn warned of an impeding end of the Iran nuclear deal should US President Donald Trump decide to opt out of the agreement. According to Kühn, it will be up to the Europeans to save the deal and to give Tehran the necessary assurances that the economic benefits from the deal will come to fruition. If, at some point, Washington decides to impose secondary sanctions against European companies trading with Iran, the deal will ultimately be over, Kühn said.
