VCDNP's Ulrich Kühn talks about the US' decision to withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal with Swiss newspaper Aargauer.

On 9 May 2018, VCDNP Senior Research Associate Ulrich Kühn gave an interview for the Swiss Aargauer Zeitung, assessing US President Donald Trump's decision to pull out of the Iran nuclear deal, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.

"Wird Teheran den Druck auf die im Atomdeal verbleibenden Staaten erhöhen und beispielsweise die Raketentests, die nicht unter das Abkommen fallen, ausweiten?"

Kühn said that the real test for the agreement will come in a few weeks when European companies might come under sanctions from the United States. Then, Kühn said, much will depend on Tehran's response as it might feel tempted to exert more pressure on the European parties to the agreement. Read the article (in German) here.
