The Vienna Center for Disarmament and Non-Proliferation (VCDNP) is recruiting an intern for fall 2025, under the Japan Chair for a World without Nuclear Weapons programme. Eligible applicants must be Japanese nationals. We strongly encourage applications from women.
The VCDNP is an international non-governmental organisation based in Vienna, Austria. The Center conducts research, facilitates dialogue, and builds capacity on nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation issues.
The duration of the internship is two to three months, ideally starting in September 2025, and will take place in person in Vienna, Austria. The exact dates will be as agreed between the VCDNP and the successful candidate. The VCDNP will cover the intern’s economy roundtrip airfare to and from Vienna and provide a monthly stipend of 1,000 Euro to offset living expenses.

Previous experience in organising events and knowledge of other software applications as well as social media platforms are assets.
The successful candidate will be required to obtain a visa or other authorisation to work in Austria.
The position requires light to moderate physical effort and the ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time. The VCDNP maintains a smoke-free and drug-free workplace.
