VCDNP Executive Director Elena Sokova and Senior Research Associate Federica Dall’Arche participated in the Annual Conference of the EU Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Consortium (EUNPDC) and held a series of activities with Mentors and Mentees of the YWNGI Mentorship Programme.
The VCDNP launched the 5th edition of the Young Women in Non-Proliferation and Disarmament (YWNPD) Mentorship Programme, an activity of the Young Women and Next Generation Initiative (YWNGI) established by the VCDNP in 2021 on behalf of the EU Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Consortium (EUNPDC).
The final meeting of the 2024–2025 cycle of the Mentorship Programme under the YWNGI took place on 14 May 2025. Hosted virtually, the event brought together mentees, mentors, and experts in the field to share insights, celebrate the achievements of the mentees, and reflect on the Programme’s outcomes.
The Vienna Center for Disarmament and Non-Proliferation (VCDNP), on behalf of the EU Non-Proliferation Consortium and in the framework of the Young Women Next Generation Initiative (YWNGI), organised the second Mentorship Alumni meeting in Vienna.
The VCDNP and the International Affairs Institute (IAI), on behalf of the EU Non-Proliferation Consortium and in the framework of the Young Women Next Generation Initiative (YWNGI), organised the first Mentorship Alumni meeting in Brussels and a webinar on conventional weapons diversion, featuring Dr. Nils Duquet.
Mentors and mentees of the YWNGI Mentorship Programme participated in two capacity-building activities designed to improve their research and public speaking skills.

On 28-29 April 2022, the IAI and the VCDNP organized the Final Meeting of the first edition of the Young Women and Next Generation Initiative in Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Mentorship Programme.
