Together with the organizers of the Munich Security Conference (MSC), the VCDNP organized an official side event on "The Future of the INF Treaty: Towards a Common NATO Position" at Hotel Bayerischer Hof on 16 February 2018. The event, chaired by VCDNP Senior Research Associate Ulrich Kühn and opened by former U.S. Ambassador Steve Pifer, brought together governmental as well as non-governmental experts in order to discuss the ramifications of Russia's alleged violation of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty. The goal of the event was to identify how the United States and its NATO allies could respond to the Russian INF challenge without undermining alliance unity.
