The second Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) essay competition for young scholars on conventional arms control and confidence- and security-building measures (CSBMs) in Europe concluded on 8 December 2021 with an award ceremony for the winners. The VCDNP is one of four organisations that comprise the board of the competition, along with the Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy at the University of Hamburg, the Moscow State Institute for International Relations, the Geneva Centre for Security Policy. There were 36 entries from participants in 19 OSCE Participating States and 53% of the total participants were women.
The VCDNP offers its congratulations to the winners: Anna Nadibaidze (University of Southern Denmark), Nicolò Miotto (Charles University Prague), and Claudia Ditel (Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz). The first two winners shared the first and the second places, as the reviewers awarded their essays the same score.
