Background

Edith Bursac is Assistant Director of International Management and Operations at the Vienna Center for Disarmament and Non-Proliferation (VCDNP) where she provides leadership, professional expertise, and direction in managing the successful conception, organisation, and execution of high profile conferences, meetings, and diplomatic workshops hosted by the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies (CNS) and the VCDNP. A member of the senior management team, Ms. Bursac is responsible for key planning, administrative, financial, and organisational development efforts, including domestic and international operations, financial management and reporting, risk management, and compliance.

Ms. Bursac has been based in Vienna since March 2019. Between 2005 and 2019, she was based in Monterey, California. Before joining CNS she worked at the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) in Vienna, Austria. She is a member of Meeting Professionals International (MPI) and Protocol and Diplomacy International— Protocol Officers’ Association (PDI-POA) and speaks several European languages. She is originally from Graz, Austria.

Education

Ms. Bursac earned her BA in International Relations, with distinction, from the American University in Washington, DC. She also holds an MA in International Policy Studies with a specialisation in International Security and an MBA in Global Impact Management from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. Ms. Bursac also earned certificates in UN Protocol from the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and Conference and Meeting Management from San Francisco State University.
