During the conference, which took place in Vatican City from 16-17 May 2019, Ms. Kane delivered remarks, calling for regulation of artificial intelligence (AI) across various domains, including against lethal autonomous weapons systems and the use of people's personal data for political purposes.

Ms. Kane also advocated for enhanced dialogue between stakeholders with the aim to find common definitions and define "red lines" as norms, which no State or non-State actor should violate.
