VCDNP staff and interns participated in the third meeting of the PrepCom for the 2020 Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the NPT.

VCDNP staff and interns participated in the third meeting of the Preparatory Committee (PrepCom) for the 2020 Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), that took place in New York from 29 April to 10 May 2019.

VCDNP Senior Fellow Angela Kane presented a new paper on the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons, published with with the Friedrich Ebert Siftung’s New York Office (FESNY). She also presented the "Kyoto Appeal", developed by the Group of Eminent Persons for Substantive Advancement of Nuclear Disarmament.

CNS Director of the International Organizations and Non-Proliferation Program Gaukhar Mukhatzhanova participated as an adviser to the Delegation of Chile. She also spoke at two side events: “Steps towards new Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zones: Prospects and Challenges”, organised by Kazakhstan and the UN Office for Disarmament Affairs, as well as "INF Treaty, New START, and Article VI of the NPT: How to Preserve the Global Arms Control Architecture?", hosted by the German Mission to the UN and organised by the Deep Cuts Commission.

VCDNP interns Marie-Charlotte Aubry and Veronika Bedenko also attended the PrepCom and participated in several side events, including the second Track 2.5 workshop co-organized by CNS and the PIR Center.
