A Young Women in Non-Proliferation and Disarmament (YWNPD) Mentorship Programme has been created under the Young Women and Next Generation Initiative (YWNGI), established by the Vienna Center for Disarmament and Non-Proliferation (VCDNP) and the International Affairs Institute (IAI) in the framework of the EU Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Consortium.

Inspired by the CNS Young Women in Nonproliferation Initiative (YWINI) Mentorship Program, the YWNPD Mentorship Programme aims to offer a similar opportunity to young women in undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate studies in Europe and globally. The YWNPD Mentorship Programme will pair successful candidates (mentees) with well-established experts (mentors) to engage in a mentoring relationship, which envisions, among other things, regular videoconferencing sessions. Mentees will also be expected to attend conferences, including the EU Annual Conference and the Next Generation Workshop usually held in the Fall. Networking and career opportunities will be facilitated through seminars, social events and other activities.

The application process for the 2023 – 2024 Young Women in Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Mentorship Programme is now closed.
